Platform Discovery & Modeling

A fixed-scope discovery sprint that turns a loose platform idea into a scoped brief and a real domain model — the de-risked starting point for a first-of-a-kind build.

Outcomes

  • A scoped problem statement with explicit success criteria and what is out of scope, in writing
  • A real domain data model — entities, relationships, and a versioning strategy — not a slide deck
  • A capability map of which proven building blocks the platform assembles, with an honest build estimate
  • A platform blueprint and a phased delivery plan the build engagement consumes directly

How it works

You know you need a platform. What you do not yet have is the one thing that makes the build go fast and stay safe: a clear, written scope and a real model of the domain it has to run. That is what this sprint produces.

We FRAME the problem — what the platform is for, what "done" means, and what is explicitly out of scope. We then build a domain data model: the entities, relationships, and the versioning strategy your operations actually need (work orders, assets, failure codes, locations, in a Maximo-shaped domain). The output is a tangible artifact the build phase consumes — not a roadmap that stops at a recommendation.

This is where Modeling and Operations Research depth earns its place. Getting the data model right is the entire hard problem in a first-of-a-kind build, and it is the founder's home ground.

What you get at the end

A scoped brief, a domain model, a capability map naming which proven blocks the platform assembles, and a phased delivery plan. Everything is yours, and the build engagement — if you run it — starts from these artifacts rather than from a blank page.

FAQ

Is this just a workshop? No. A workshop ends in notes. This ends in a domain model and a delivery plan the build phase consumes directly — a buildable blueprint, not a deck.

Do we have to build with you afterward? No. The artifacts are yours. If you take them to your own team or another builder, they still represent real, de-risking work.

How is it priced? Fixed-scope, fixed-fee. The sprint's scope and its outputs are pinned before it starts, so you know the shape of the work in advance.

Proof

  • Domain-modeling depth for asset-intensive, regulated operations platforms (ex-Maximo, Modeling and Operations Research)
  • An anonymized capability-domain model carried forward from a prior enterprise platform build
